MAPLE Schedule Released

September 12th, 2010 will be the opening day of games for the MAPLE league this fall. After looking at the number of leagues competing this fall, I have decided to follow the U-13 and U-14 Boys Division 1 leagues only. Younger age groups have way too many leagues to follow and at this age group, teams in division 1 are the most competitive anyway. Most decent players will have floated to the top by now as well.

In the U-13 division we have several unknown and relatively new clubs looking to find a foothold in the Premier League. Most intriguing of these teams are Bayside FC, AC Arlington, and Sachems FC. They certainly deserve to be in division 1, but will have to earn their keep this fall. SF Vikings also make an appearance having only just begun to place teams in the top flight over the last few seasons.

The rest of the league is filled with big time clubs such as Stars of MA, Cape Cod United, Greater Boston, FC Blazers, Western United, and NEFC.

The U-14 Division 1 is filled with a few more well established teams. NEFC places two teams in the top flight along with Stars of MA, Pioneers, FC United, FC Blazers, Bayside, and Greater Boston.

Mission Launch

The purpose of this blog is experimentation. I do not know much about maintaining, yet alone constructing a website so I set up this blog as practice, a dry run. Eventually I would like to launch a website set on providing a place for all elite and select soccer players and families in Massachusetts to discuss their experiences on and off the field. My goal is to include a forum, game recaps, rankings, scores, and statistics on the site - updated daily.

Beyond this basic set of tools, it is my goal to include a tournament directory, advertisement space, player profiles, team profiles, tournament coordination services, and launch my own select tournament sponsored by the website.

So - the purpose of this blog is gathering information about the different leagues and teams active in Massachusetts. As a disclaimer - almost everything on this blog resembling a news story or service is fictional. Nothing is real. What is real?
