Monday August 23 - The 2010 Fall season is set to begin with High School players scrambling to get their fitness up in time for the fast-approaching preseason while the youngsters are dreaming of glory and finishing top of the table (or perhaps just having fun). While most league schedules are still being put together, the anticipation of the fall is hard to ignore.
The USSDA League will begin regional play in late November with the U-15/16's and U-17/18's before resuming in early spring, the Super Y takes the fall off, and teams in U-14 and under in MAPLE and MASC are eagerly awaiting the release of their schedules. Generally the attention thus turns toward college and high school ball this time of year. That said, this is an excellent opportunity to launch my current endeavor in covering club soccer in the state.
As I continue to spill my random train of thoughts onto this blog it may come as no surprise that you all can look forward to my covering of some high school and college matches this fall (particularly the ISL and NESCAC).
